Nicholas Monahan nominated by Kris Monahan

Nicholas is a 12 year old Tiverton Middle School Student (and I'm lucky enough to be his mom!). In the past we have volunteered time and energy to Amicable Church Thanksgiving Food Drive and volunteered at Salvation Army Food Kitchen in New Bedford, MA so he is keenly aware of food security issues and always wants to volunteer to help ensure all people have food. Once COVID hit and I was at home more, I decided to expand my garden. He helped me till and plant the garden and we son had an abundance of vegetables. He asked if he could have a farm stand out front and my husband obliged him. We were impressed with his entrepreneurial spirit and all summer he sold vegetables in front of the house (which is a dead end so we didn't get a ton of traffic). At the end of the summer, he counted his profits and asked if he could donate most of the funds to the Amicable Church for the Thanksgiving Food Drive. We were so proud time growing and selling vegetables and then decided to donate most of the profits.
